As I was flipping channels last night between CBS (Osama Bin Ladin raid recap) and the Oscars, I couldn’t help but watch Michelle Obama kiss more ass to the public. I have said it a hundreds times on the Emerald City Journal. Michelle and Barack Obama are all about making the American people love them, building their popularity, and brand. They want popularity so they can get the continued support to pitch their crap in the White House. A President (or anyone) will always be voted for or supported due to popularity. A sense of connection with us, always seeing them, being inspired by them – this person will always take the lead over the others. It doesn’t even really matter what their view/opinion is on topics or the path they want to take the country in. Her speech sure was inspirational no doubt about that. It’s what they both are great at… unfortunately they continue to drop the ball when is comes to real CHANGES.
Then the moment came when she was going to read the winner. Obviously, they wanted it to be the Lincoln movie… but nope it was ARGO. That was a disappointment considering from the box office ARGO was a flop of a movie. However, the movie featured and was backed by the most popular in the industry… Ben Affleck (who hasn’t made a good movie in a long time) and George Clooney (who the Oscars focused on the whole night cracking joke, all women love, and the industry respects a lot). It’s also kind of funny that ARGO was about a group of fake film makers who infiltrate Iran to recover American hostages. It’s a propaganda film about Iran.
Looking back I wonder how many people in the White House actually knew the winner before Michelle announced it. They made the moment look like it was a sealed envelope and nobody knew the winner – obviously an unopened envelope given directly to Michelle Obama from the outside World would never happen in a million years.
